I listen during my commute (45 mins each way). Right now I'm on Dad.go.com, Stuff You Should Know, and whatever true crime thing my wife has on. Looking to branch out. Need something that's actually funny, not preachy, and won't make me feel dumb. Suggestions?
lol your wife got you on true crime? My wife does the same thing to me. I've learned way too much about serial killers I didn't ask for
Stuff You Should Know is solid for the commute length. If you want something shorter and more dad-focused, try Parenting Hell - British dads talking about the chaos, pretty funny stuff
NPR's Invisible Roller Coaster is actually insane and nobody talks about it. I binged all of it. But if you want something lighter, The Habitat or Outside/In might hit different than true crime
Not a podcast but have you considered audiobooks? I switched my third commute slot to audiobooks and it actually saves my sanity vs podcast fatigue. Just saying

45 mins each way is perfect for Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert if you haven't already. Fair warning: he goes OFF on parenting stuff and it's either exactly what you need to hear or makes you feel judged depending on the day
Try Our Fake History or Lore if you like actual storytelling. 30-45 min episodes, keeps you thinking without being too heavy. Perfect for driving without spacing out
if you want true crime but actually good, try My Favorite Murder - but your wife probably already listens lol. For dad stuff specifically Daddy Issues is decent though it's inconsistent
The Dad.go.com recommendation is interesting - what's that one about? Never heard of it. Looking for something where I don't need to be in peak mental state at 6am

The true crime rotation is wild lol. Have you tried Stuff Dad Does? It's like SYSK but actually dad-focused - less 3hr episodes, more digestible for commutes. Plus the hosts aren't insufferable
