Built a treehouse with my boys this weekend and wow

I found some plans online and grabbed supplies from Home Depot. Spent Saturday and Sunday with my kids actually building something with their hands instead of staring at screens. My 10yo used a real hammer for the first time. My 7yo was just handing me nails and asking questions the whole time. It's not fancy or Instagram worthy but we made it together and they're already begging to spend the night in it. This is what I'm gonna remember, not whatever stress from work was making me lose sleep last week.

That's awesome man. I built one with my two kids last year and it's become like their favorite spot. Make sure you inspect it regularly though - the wood can get sketchy after weather exposure.

This is so cool. My newborn is still tiny but I'm already dreaming about projects like this we can do together. How old are your boys? Would love to know when kids are old enough to really help with something like a treehouse.

That's awesome man. Building something real with your hands alongside your boys is exactly what they'll remember forever. I try to get quality time like that every weekend when I have the kids, and those are always the best days.

Did you treat the wood at all? I'm thinking about doing this with mine but I want to make sure it lasts more than one season. Also how long did the whole project take you?

Home Depot plans are solid. The feeling of building something with your boys and then watching them actually use it and love it is next level. Those are the moments they'll remember.

Nothing beats quality time building stuff together. My boys are older now and honestly those weekend projects are what I miss most from when they were younger.
