Costco haul debate - bulk snacks yes or no
We've got 3 kids and my wife swears by buying bulk snacks at Costco. I say they eat it in 3 days and we end up throwing half away. She says I'm being wasteful. We're both kind of right and it drives me crazy. What's the happy medium here? Are your kids normal with portion control or is this just a us thing?
The 3-day thing is real. We bought a bulk box of goldfish crackers and they were gone in like 48 hours. But we have 4 kids so maybe that's the difference? My wife and I compromised - she can buy bulk snacks BUT only things that have a longer shelf life. Dried fruit, granola bars, that kind of stuff. Fresh stuff like chips we still do regular portions.
Okay but what snacks are actually getting thrown away? That matters. If it's fresh stuff like fruit yeah that's wasteful but shelf-stable stuff that expires in a year? You're prob fine.
