My league is doing our draft in 3 weeks and I have no clue how to prepare this year. Haven't followed football as much with everything going on. Do people still use the same strategies from 5 years ago or has the game changed? Also my buddy keeps trash talking already and we haven't even drafted yet. This is gonna be a fun season.
Fantasy football prep is honestly just watching highlights and checking injury reports for the first two weeks before the draft. Don't overthink it or you'll go crazy. Last year I barely followed anything and still came in second.
Join one of the subreddits for your league format. Fantasy Football subreddit has great resources and you can ask dumb questions without judgment. That's how I catch back up every year.
Honestly with a newborn I'm not even thinking about fantasy football this year, but my dad does a league and he just listens to a couple podcasts on his commute the week before. Seems to work for him.
Man, I feel you. Between the three kids and trying to keep the house from falling apart, I barely keep up with the Seahawks let alone the whole league. Just pick some guys you've heard of and trust your gut - that's been my strategy for like five years now.
Three weeks is plenty of time. Hit up some podcasts on your commute or during lunch, look at some mock drafts online, and figure out which players you actually want. That's basically all there is to it.
YouTube highlights are your friend here. I do a quick 20 minute search the night before our draft while the kids are in bed and that usually gets me dialed in enough to not embarrass myself.
Three weeks is plenty of time. I'd say watch some YouTube breakdowns of the top players at each position, get a feel for what people are valuing, and then go in with a rough strategy. Are you going RB heavy early or WR? That helps.
Fantasy football is all about staying up way too late watching highlight reels and reading trade analysis. I'd recommend finding a good sleeper at your position and just committing to it.
I don't even bother preparing much anymore. I just check the projected top 20 a day before and wing it. The league is usually decided by who stays healthy, not who has the smartest draft strategy.

Check out ESPN's preseason rankings and just follow a few fantasy podcasts in the next few weeks. You don't need to be an expert, just know which guys are healthy and what the bye weeks look like. Makes draft day way less stressful.

I just wing it every year at this point. Grab a coffee, spend maybe 30 minutes looking at injury reports the night before, and then just pick guys I've heard good things about. Usually finishes middle of the pack but I have fun with it.
