Been running the same league for 6 years with buddies from college. Half of them are ghosting now that we're all spread out with families. Thinking about opening it up to randoms but idk if that ruins it. Anyone else deal with this?
Six years is a long run, that sucks. Our league has been dealing with the same thing. What we did was go back to basics and cut it down to guys who actually show up. Better to have six engaged guys than twelve ghosts. Sometimes people just move on from stuff and that's okay.
I'd say try to salvage it one more time with a group chat but if they're really checked out then let it go. Don't burn yourself out trying to keep something alive that nobody else wants. The guys who care will probably suggest doing something else together anyway.
This happened to mine too and it was honestly depressing at first. But we reinvented it with the guys who actually cared. Less people but way more fun because everyone was invested. Maybe this is your signal to either find new blood or do something different with the league.

Have you sent out a message asking what's going on? Sometimes people ghost because they don't want to seem flaky but a simple 'hey are you still in' can fix it. Or they're just busy with life stuff. Either way worth a direct conversation before you give up on it.
