Finally got around to building that deck

Spent all weekend building a deck with my oldest helping. He was actually useful holding boards and using the drill under supervision. Legs are sore AF but the thing looks solid. Planning a family BBQ next month to christen it. Nothing beats that feeling of building something with your own hands, even if it took twice as long because I kept stopping to answer questions about why wood is wood.

This is such a cool memory to create. My oldest is 9 now and I still remember building our first fence together when he was around that age. Those moments where they actually help instead of just getting in the way hit different.
