After 3 weekends of blood sweat and splinters, the back deck is finally done. The kids helped a little bit but mostly just got in the way lol. Already planning the first cookout. Feels good to actually complete a project with two kids running around.
That's awesome man. I did my deck two summers ago and it's been the best investment. The kids love having that outdoor space and honestly I use it more than I expected. Those splinters are worth it.
Wait you got your kids to actually help? Mine would've lasted 5 minutes before wanting to do something else. Curious what you did to keep them engaged because that's a win right there.
Now comes the part where they ask every single day if they can eat snacks on the deck. Fair warning. But seriously nice work, those things look great when they're done right.
This is the kind of win I live for. Your kids are going to remember building that deck with you way longer than they'll remember screen time. Plus now you've got a spot to watch them play instead of being cooped up inside.

That's awesome. Three weekends though, man. I did my back porch in like two months on and off because I kept getting interrupted. How old are your helpers? Mine would last about fifteen minutes before deciding they had something else to do.
