Taking 3 days off work next month to hit some courses with the boys. Looking for somewhere within 4-5 hour drive from Chicago with decent courses and maybe some good restaurants nearby. Price isn't the biggest deal but would like to keep it reasonable. Anyone done a golf trip recently? What did you like about the place?
Scottsdale area has some amazing courses if you're looking Southwest. The courses are killer and the weather should be nice next month. I did a trip out there last year and it was worth every penny.
What's your budget looking like? That'll help narrow it down. Some resorts are golf-focused which is perfect for guys trips, others have more family stuff mixed in.
If you're staying within 4 hours, look at Scottsdale area in Arizona. Tons of courses and you can actually bring the boys without it being too intense. We did something similar last year and the weather was perfect.
How old are the boys? If they're old enough they might actually want to golf with you, or at least hang at the resort. Changed my whole trip planning when my kids got to that age.
How old are your boys? That matters for course difficulty. Also budget matters a ton for resort vs regular hotel situation. I usually try to find places where I can golf in the morning and do something with the kids in the afternoon.

Texas Hill Country has some solid options if you're anywhere near there. Fredericksburg area has multiple courses and it's nice for families too.
