Got my dad his first tablet for Father's Day

Spent like an hour setting up apps, showing him how to use it, trying to explain cloud storage. He kept asking why he needs it when he has his laptop. By the end he was FaceTiming my sister and seemed pretty happy though. Now I'm the tech support guy apparently but it's worth it to see him figure this stuff out. Anyone else introduce older family members to tech? Any tips for keeping them from accidentally breaking it?

An hour of setup and explanations for Father's Day sounds like quality time honestly. He might come around once he figures out he can video call the grandkids on it or something.

My dad is the same way with his phone. Eventually he'll realize the tablet is handy for reading stuff in bed or showing photos easier, but yeah, that initial why do I need this phase is real.

That's a tough sell but I respect the effort. Maybe in a few weeks he'll text you about something he found on it and you'll know it's working.
