Just attempted homemade pizza night and it was a disaster
Thought I'd be the cool dad and make pizza from scratch with my 6yo and 8yo. Seemed fun in my head. Reality: flour EVERYWHERE, the dough wouldn't stretch right, my sauce was too acidic, and the oven temp was inconsistent so half the pizza was burnt and half was soggy. Kids thought it was hilarious at least? They ate the good parts with pepperoni. Thinking maybe next time I just buy the pre-made dough from Trader Joe's and call it a day. Anyone have tips or should I just accept defeat?
Homemade pizza is one of those "looks easy on TikTok" things that's actually just chaos and flour. At least your kids had fun watching it fail probably
The oven temperature thing gets everyone their first time. Most home ovens don't go hot enough for proper pizza crust. You basically need a pizza stone and way hotter than you think
