Kinda freaking out honestly. Saw it on the calendar this morning. I don't feel old but the number 40 just hits different. My buddy wants to do a big party but I don't know if I want all that. Anyone else hit 40 recently? How did you handle it?

The lead up to 40 is worse than actually being 40 I think. Once you hit it you realize you're the same person you were on day 364 of being 39.
Welcome to the club. I turned 40 two years ago and spent way too much energy stressing about it before the actual day. The number is weird but you don't feel any different once you hit it.
The 40 thing hit me hard last year. Not gonna lie, it messed with my head for a bit. But then I realized I'm in better shape mentally and as a dad than I was at 35 so maybe 40 isn't as bad as it sounds.
40 is wild to think about but honestly it just keeps coming. One day you're 35 thinking you have forever and then boom you're planning how to acknowledge it.
40 is nothing. I know that sounds cliche but seriously, you've got time. And if you've got kids, you've got everything that matters anyway.
Same here man, but honestly being a dad makes you feel younger and older at the same time. You're still learning and growing which is what matters.
