Local baseball rec league is insane this year

My son's on the 10U team and honestly the parents have gotten way too competitive. There's this one dad who's literally yelling at 10 year olds about their swing mechanics. Like buddy, they're still learning to tie their shoes half the time. Just let them have fun. Anyway, my kid's actually pretty good so I'm definitely not complaining when we're winning but the vibe is weird. Anyone else dealing with this? How do you keep it fun and not let the intensity ruin it?

The swing mechanics guy is the worst. Like dude, they're literally still learning to hold the bat correctly, chill. My 10U coach actually told a parent to back off last season and it was glorious.

Yelling at 10 year olds about mechanics is absolutely insane. Those kids should be learning to love the game, not getting anxious every time they step up to bat.

lol same. there's always that one parent who thinks they're prepping their kid for MLB draft. meanwhile the kids just wanna have fun and get a snack after the game

What league are you in? We had to have a parent meeting about this exact thing last year. Our league director literally made a rule about coaching from the stands.

I'd honestly talk to the league director. A lot of leagues have rules about parent behavior now and that guy is definitely crossing the line if he's directed those comments at kids.
