Been doing this with my buddies for like 15 years and I'm somehow worse at it every single year. I base picks on vibes. My coworker who literally doesn't watch basketball is in first place right now. It's only the first round and I'm already out.
I feel this in my soul. My pick strategy is whatever team my kid hasn't heard of yet, which is somehow not worse than actual research. Vibes are underrated.
The stress is real but honestly the fun of it with your buddies is worth the L's. My coworkers and I do one every year and I think I've won maybe twice. It's about the trash talk anyway.

Dude same. I swear my picks get worse every year even though I watch more games now. Last year I had a 4 seed in my final four. A FOUR SEED. Your buddies must be brutal about it.

Haha, 15 years of vibes-based picks is pretty honest at least. I work shift work so I barely have time to watch games let alone scout teams - my brackets are basically random guesses at this point.
