Need recommendation for kids' bicycle brands that won't fall apart in 3 months

Bought my son a bike from Target last year and the chain popped off twice during his first ride. Went back and got a Trek instead and it's been solid for over a year now. Worth the extra $150 imo. Anyone else have brands they actually trust for kids' bikes?
