Question about switching kids to public school
We've been doing private school for our 2 kids (ages 8 and 10) but the tuition is killing us. Looking at switching to the public school in our district (Rockville, MD area). Anyone familiar with Maryland schools? How's the transition usually for mid-year switchers? Are we gonna screw them up academically or is this not a huge deal?
Any honest reviews would help. Not looking for "public schools are great!" or "public schools are terrible!" just actual experience.
Rockville public schools are solid, especially at the elementary level. Your biggest variable is which elementary zone you're in - some are way better than others. Have you checked the specific school's test scores and principal reviews?
Do you have options between elementary schools in Rockville or is it assigned by your address? That matters a lot more than "public vs private" honestly.
