Road trip ideas for summer with kids
Family of 4, two kids age 6 and 9. Want to do something fun but not totally exhausting. We're thinking like 8-10 hour drive max. Colorado or somewhere out west maybe? Anyone done a good family road trip? What made it actually work and not just everyone miserable in the car?
Keep it simple with a road trip that's under 8 hours of driving. Kids that age get weird about being in the car too long. We did a lake trip to Colorado and broke it up with stops, made it part of the adventure instead of torture.
Great Lakes road trip if you can get there. Or honestly just pick somewhere with a pool at the hotel and the kids will have fun regardless. They care more about the experience with you guys than the destination.
