Road trip with the family next month

Thinking about driving to Colorado with the wife and the kids. Never done a big road trip like that before. Any tips for keeping kids sane in the car for like 16 hours? Should I break it up into two days or just go for it? Also if anyone has recommendations for stuff to do out there let me know.

Audiobooks and podcasts saved us on long drives. My kids actually got into them and asked questions the whole way instead of fighting. Plus you and the wife get to enjoy it too.

I'd say plan for longer stops than you think you need. Kids need to run around and burn off energy, and honestly the drive becomes way less miserable when everyone's not cooped up the whole time.

Snacks, snacks, and more snacks dude. Seriously though, mix in some new dollar store toys they haven't seen before and rotate them every couple hours to keep things fresh. Colorado is gonna be amazing for the kids.
