The backyard chickens experiment is somehow working

I was 100% skeptical when my wife first brought this up six months ago. "We're not farmers, Karen." But we got four chickens and honestly? The kids love it, we get eggs, and they're way less maintenance than I thought. My 8yo daughter named one "Nugget" which is dark but funny. It's become this whole thing now - the kids fight over who gets to feed them in the morning. Weird parenting win?

Chickens are genuinely less maintenance than I thought too. Everyone acts like it's this huge commitment but honestly it's like 15 minutes a day tops. Fresh eggs make it totally worth it.

Everyone needs to read this and hear that it's way less maintenance than they think. People imagine full farming lifestyle but it's literally just letting them out in the morning and closing up at night. Oh and cleaning the coop but that's monthly stuff.

I'm curious - do your kids actually HELP take care of them or is it just fun to watch? Because my wife wants to do this and sell it as a learning experience but I know who's gonna end up doing the actual work
