The grocery store used to be peaceful. Now it's a nightmare.
Remember when going to the store was like... an adult task? Now I take my 4yo and it's like herding cats. Everything in reach is interesting, there's a constant running commentary, and we end up with random things in the cart I definitely didn't put there. Today it was three containers of frosting and a bag of shrimp. We don't even eat shrimp. Wife thinks this is hilarious. I'm considering grocery delivery like it's going out of style.
Try going early on a weekday morning if you can swing it. I've noticed the 8am crowd is way less chaotic than late afternoon when all the kids are out of school and bouncing off the walls.
