Unpopular opinion: dad jokes are actually the best jokes

I don't care what anyone says, dad jokes hit different. The groan is the point! If my 7-year-old rolls his eyes at my "why did the scarecrow win an award? because he was outstanding in his field" bit, that means I've succeeded as a father. My wife disagrees but she's wrong and I'm prepared to die on this hill.

Unpopular opinion take but honestly I think there's something timeless about a good dad joke. They work because they're clever wordplay, not because they're bad.
