Weekend plans falling apart and I'm weirdly ok with it

Had some big plans to take the family to the lake but woke up this morning and the car needs a brake job so that's not happening. Wife is bummed but honestly I'm kind of relieved? Just want to stay home, fire up the grill, let the kids play in the backyard. Sometimes unplanned weekends end up being the best ones. Anyone else get this or am I just getting old and boring?
