My 14 year old won't stop talking about this anime show and honestly I don't get it at all. But he's actually reading subtitles and getting into storytelling which is cool I guess? Anyone else have kids into this stuff? Is it actually worth watching or am I just old now?
My boys went through the anime phase too and honestly it got them into reading and paying attention to plot details. Could be worse hobbies for a teenager, you know?
That's awesome he's reading subtitles and actually engaged with the story. At 14, that's way better than scrolling mindlessly on his phone. Maybe ask him what he likes about it instead of trying to get it yourself.
Same situation here with my oldest. He's obsessed with some show about heroes or something. I just let him talk about it, ask questions about the characters, and he seems happy. Even if I don't fully get it, at least he's reading subtitles and engaged with something creative.
My daughter got into anime last year and I was totally lost at first. But I started watching a few episodes with her and honestly it's not as bad as I thought. Plus it gives us something to talk about. What show is he into?

My 13 year old is the same way. I've learned that if I just sit down and watch an episode or two, it means the world to him. You don't have to love it, but showing interest in what he loves is huge at that age.
