Being a man of honor means taking responsibility even when it's hard

Made a mistake at work, blamed it on my team to my boss. Kid found out somehow through the grapevine and asked me about it. Couldn't look him in the eye. Went back to my boss the next day and told the truth, took the hit. Got talked to but it blew over. My son saw me handle it and said he was proud of me. That's when it hit me that I was teaching him worse than I realized. How can I expect him to be honorable if I'm not? Now when I mess up at home with my family I own it immediately. Kids are watching everything we do.
