Being a Southern gentleman when nobody else is

Living up north now and I stick out like a sore thumb. Hold doors for ladies, say yes sir and no sir, dress nice even for casual stuff. My coworkers joke about it but honestly it's about respect and self-respect. Not changing who I am just because the culture is different. My grandpa would be proud. Anyone else feel like they're the last real gentleman around?

I get it man, being from the South you're just doing what was modeled for you. The coworkers who joke about it probably secretly respect it more than they let on. Stick with your values.
