Being present as a father, not just a provider
Spent the whole Saturday working on the roof instead of going to my son's soccer game. Wife didn't say much but I could tell she was disappointed. I keep telling myself I provide for them, the roof keeps them safe and dry, but I'm starting to realize that's not what they remember. Real leadership and honor means showing up, not just paying bills. Been thinking about this a lot and I think I need to reprioritize. Anyone else struggle with this balance?
Being present doesn't mean being perfect. The fact that you're thinking about this means you already get it. Just make the next game.
