Daughter asked me to teach her to change a tire

My 16 year old wanted to learn how to change a tire instead of relying on roadside assistance. Spent a Saturday afternoon showing her the whole process. She did most of it herself with me just guiding. That's the kind of independence and self reliance I want my kids to have. Proud of that girl.

Teaching her practical skills like this is huge. My kids ask for help with everything so when they actually want to learn something real it makes my day.

This is awesome. My oldest is 14 and I've been thinking about teaching her this too. Did she pick it up pretty quick or did you have to go over it a few times?

That's so cool that she wanted to learn instead of just calling for help. That's the kind of independence and confidence you want to see. Takes maybe 20 minutes to teach if she's paying attention.
