Financial Responsibility as a Core Value
Been reading a lot lately about honor and duty and what it really means to be a man in 2024. For me it starts with taking care of your business. Paying your bills on time. Not spending money you don't have. Teaching your kids that work has value and that you earn what you get. My father always said a man is only as good as his word and his financial integrity proves that word. I know that sounds old school but I'm raising my kids to understand that discipline with money is discipline with life. Who else is big on teaching this to their kids?
Definitely resonates with me. I think about it constantly - what kind of man am I teaching my kids to be just by how I handle money and obligations. It's not always flashy stuff but the small decisions matter.
