Got called out for opening the door for my wife at dinner
Took my wife to this new restaurant downtown last weekend and held the door open for her before I went in. Some younger guy made a comment about toxic masculinity and how I was being condescending. I just smiled and let it roll off. At the end of the day I was raised to show respect and courtesy to the ladies in my life, and nothing modern is going to change that. My wife appreciated it and that's what matters.
I get what you're saying but honestly I stopped worrying what other people think about stuff like this years ago. If your wife appreciates it, that's what matters. Everyone else can take a seat.
