Honoring your word in a world that doesn't
Had a situation at work where I could have made an excuse and nobody would have known the difference. Instead I owned the mistake and took the consequences. Got respect from my boss because of it, not in spite of it. That's the thing about integrity that gets lost nowadays. Your word is all you have. Your kids are watching how you handle these moments. That's how you teach them what it means to be a man of character.
This hits different when you become a dad. My kids are watching everything I do, even when they think I'm not paying attention. That moment where you could have taken the easy way out but didn't? That's the stuff they remember.
