How do I teach my son to shake hands properly?

My boy is 8 and we've been working on this but he's still doing that weak fish grip thing. Any tips from you guys? I want him to have a firm handshake when he meets people. My old man made sure I knew this stuff by the time I was his age and it stuck with me.
