How do you balance being a father with keeping your honor intact

I'm dealing with a situation at work where my boss is asking me to stretch the truth on a report. I could get a promotion and it would help my family financially but I can't do it. My kids watch what I do and I won't teach them that cutting corners is okay just because the payoff is good. My wife thinks I'm crazy for potentially passing on this advancement but I feel like my integrity is the most valuable thing I can leave them. Needed to write that out.

The honor thing and being a father are actually the same thing. You want your kids to know you as someone who does the right thing even when it's hard. So don't stretch the truth. Get it in writing that you were asked to, then refuse politely.
I'm dealing with something similar right now with my co-parenting situation. The thing that keeps me straight is knowing my kids will figure out eventually who I really am. Can't fake integrity.
