How do you handle disrespect from younger guys at work?

Got a 24 year old on my team who's been cutting corners and getting smart when I give him feedback. I've been in the workforce for 20 years. My first instinct is to put him in his place but I'm trying to lead with respect and integrity instead of just throwing my weight around. Thinking about pulling him aside and having a real conversation about expectations and professionalism. Is that the right move or am I being too soft?
