How to lead without being a tyrant
I'm the head of my household but I've been thinking a lot about what that actually means. My dad ruled with an iron fist and honestly it made me resent him for years. I want to be a strong leader for my family but also listen to my wife's opinions and make decisions together. I want my kids to respect me not fear me. Is there a balance between old school leadership and being a modern dad? How do you guys do it?
Building stuff with my kids taught me that they listen way better when you're working alongside them than when you're barking orders. Leading is showing them how it's done.
