Is chivalry actually dead or are younger guys just not taught it?
Was at a restaurant with my family last week and watched a young guy let the door slam in his date's face. Made me sad honestly. My father taught me to open doors, stand when a woman enters the room, and treat people with courtesy. Not because you expect something back but because it's the right thing to do. Feel like this stuff matters and is worth teaching the next generation. Anyone else worried about this?
It's definitely less automatic now but I wouldn't say it's dead. I think a lot of younger guys just weren't shown how to do these things growing up. My parents drilled it into me and I'm doing the same with mine. Simple stuff like standing when a lady arrives at the table.
