Keeping your word actually matters

Told my kids I'd take them fishing at 7am Saturday morning and I showed up at 6:50 with everything packed even though I was up late Friday night. My youngest said 'you actually came' like he wasn't sure. A man keeps his word to his family first. No excuses, no rescheduling. You said you'd be there so you be there. That's the foundation of everything else.

This is the way. My kids remember the time I showed up early more than anything else I do. It's such a simple thing but it means everything to them.

6:50 is clutch. Shows you actually care about the promise you made. I try to do this with my kids' soccer games, always early, always prepared.

Love this. Teaching kids that your word actually matters is probably the most important life lesson we can give them. And fishing at dawn is peak dad right there.
