Keeping your word to your kids

Made a promise to my youngest I'd help him build a birdhouse this Saturday. Got an invite to go fishing with some buddies that morning but told them I had to pass. My word means something to my kid and to myself. Too many men break promises to their kids without thinking twice about it. We've got to do better than that.

That's what it's all about man. Your kid will remember that birdhouse way longer than your buddies would've remembered that fishing trip. Good call.

Props for following through. Balancing work and time with the boys is tough but the promises you keep are what they hold onto.
