New manager at my company is all about cutting corners to hit numbers. I told him I'm not doing it that way and I'd rather step back. Lost some bonuses but I sleep well at night. My team respects me more now and honestly the work is better. You can't build anything real on a bad foundation. A man's word and integrity are all he's got in the end.

That takes guts man. I've been there where the pressure's on to just get the numbers, but your kids are watching how you handle it. Sounds like you made the right call.

Stepping back is sometimes the move that gets you further ahead in the long run anyway. Respect for sticking to your guns on that one.
