Leading by example instead of raising your voice
Trying to be the kind of dad who leads by example rather than barking orders. My oldest asked me why I never really yell at them. I told him that a man doesn't need to raise his voice to be heard or respected. If anything, staying calm and speaking with purpose carries more weight. Been applying this at work too and honestly it's changed how people respond to me. Anyone else found this approach works better than the old school discipline methods?
This is the way. My kids respond so much better when I'm calm and showing them what I want instead of just yelling. They actually listen and remember the lesson instead of just remembering that dad was loud.
