Caught myself about to snap at my wife over something stupid yesterday and my 7yo was watching. I took a breath, excused myself for a second, and came back and handled it like a grown man instead of a boy. Later my wife told me he asked her if I was mad or just thinking. That kid is watching how I treat people. He's learning what a real man looks like from me every single day. That's the weight of this job.

That right there is everything. Kids remember that stuff more than you think. The fact that you caught yourself and showed him how to handle it is worth more than a thousand lectures.
