Mentoring young guys in my community

Started volunteering to mentor a couple high school kids through our church. Just spending time with them, showing them how to think about their future, teaching them to respect their mothers and elders. One of them had no father figure and his whole face changed when I started showing up consistently. We're talking about trade schools now. There's something really important about older men taking responsibility for the next generation. Don't wait around for the system to do it.
