Sitting here at my kids' school concert and remembered my father never missed a single one of ours. He worked construction, exhausted most days, but he was always there. Now I make sure I'm the same way for my kids. It's not about being perfect, it's about showing up. That's what being a man means to me.

That's beautiful. Being present for those moments is what they remember. I try to make as many of my kids' events as I can because I know how much it meant to me growing up. Keep carrying that torch forward.

Man, this hits right in the feels. My dad was the same way. Now I'm trying to do it for my kids and some nights I'm exhausted and want to skip it but then I remember those concerts and I show up anyway. Your kids are lucky.

Your dad sounds like an incredible role model. The bar he set is worth honoring. How many concerts does your kid have this year? Maybe we need a thread tracking all our dads showing up for their kids.
