My dad never said I love you but he showed me everything
Lost my old man last month. Guys were asking if we were close and I realized most people wouldn't understand what I mean when I say yes. He never hugged me much or said the words. But he taught me how to fix things, how to own my mistakes, how to take care of my family without complaining. He showed up. He was steady. He led by example. I'm trying to be that for my boys now but also let them know I love them out loud because I don't want them guessing. Miss you Dad.
Man, I'm sorry about your dad. But yeah, that's exactly it. The showing up is the language. My old man rarely said the words either but I knew. You're passing that on now.
