My dad's old advice that actually still matters
Cleaning out my garage and found some old letters from my dad. He'd write stuff like "A man's word should be his bond" and "Always look people in the eye when you shake their hand." Sounds old-fashioned but I've realized as I've gotten older that these things actually set you apart. My kids watch how I conduct myself in business dealings and personal relationships. That old-school way of handling things with integrity and respect still opens doors and builds real relationships. Miss that man.
Your dad nailed it. I'm trying to live those same principles so my kids see it's possible. That stuff about a man's word being his bond - that's what separates the real ones.
