My dad's old tools and what they represent
Inherited my father's toolbox when he passed. Old man never threw anything away. The tools are worn but they work perfectly. Every time I use them I think about him and all the projects he tackled. The way he taught me was less about the task and more about doing things right, taking responsibility, and not cutting corners. I'm 45 now and I finally understand what he was really teaching me all those years. Decided I'm gonna pass these same tools down to my son when the time comes along with that same mindset. Some things shouldn't change.
I get this. My dad had the same philosophy. Every dent in his hammer had a reason. Spent some time organizing his old workbench stuff last year and found nails from projects from the 80s. Makes you think about legacy.
