My dad's watch and what it taught me

My old man passed down his Timex to me when I turned 16. Nothing fancy, just a solid watch that keeps good time. He told me a man is judged partly by whether he shows up when he says he will, and a watch is how you keep that promise to yourself and others. I'm 43 now and still wear that watch every day. Started teaching my son the same thing last year. There's something about understanding that punctuality and reliability are the foundation of a man's character that just hits different when you hold something tangible like that.
