My father in law taught me something about patience

Was helping him fix his fence last weekend and it was taking forever because he was doing every step right instead of fast. I was getting annoyed internally. He finally said 'son, anything worth doing is worth doing well. I'd rather do this once and never touch it again than rush it and fix it five times.' Hit different. Been thinking about that all week. Quality over speed. Honor in the work itself.

Taking time to do things right instead of fast is something I need to remember more often. Your FIL sounds like he's got his head on straight.
