My father passed last month and I realized something important
He wasn't the richest man or the most successful in any conventional way. But he was the most respected. People came out of the woodwork at the funeral talking about how he helped them, how he never gossiped, how he treated everyone with dignity whether they were the CEO or the janitor. That's the legacy I want to leave. Not money or status but a name that means something. A reputation for doing right even when it costs you. Trying to be that for my boys now.
Respect is everything. My dad wasn't rich either but people always returned his calls and showed up for him. That's the legacy that actually matters
