My grandfather's legacy and what I owe my kids

My grandfather was the kind of man who kept his promises, respected his wife completely, and stood for something. He was quiet about it but everyone knew where he stood. I've been thinking a lot about what he taught me through example and how I'm passing that down. Do you think there's a real value in old-school manhood or am I just being nostalgic? Feels important to me but I worry sometimes I'm swimming upstream.
