Neighbor tried to take advantage, stood my ground

Guy asked to borrow my truck for a week. Didn't really know him that well. I politely declined and suggested he rent one instead. He got defensive saying I wasn't being neighborly. Here's the thing though: being a gentleman doesn't mean being a pushover. You can be kind and still have boundaries. That's actually what respect looks like. Don't let people confuse your manners with weakness.
