Never seen my dad angry, here's why
My father raised three boys and I never saw him lose his temper. Not once. People always ask me how that's possible and the answer is he had control. Real strength is being angry and choosing not to show it. He taught us that yelling at your kids or your wife makes you weak, not strong. It takes discipline to speak firm but calm. I'm trying to do the same with my kids and some days it's the hardest thing I do. But when my son respects me without fear, I know I'm doing something right.
That's some serious discipline right there. I'm still working on that with my boys, especially when they're wrestling in the living room at 6 AM. Your dad sounds like he had it figured out.
